Abstract

This research is being carried out chiefly to examine the gender disparity among construction workers and to propose solutions to the problem. The text sought to ascertain the extent of women's participation in the building construction industry in order to provide suggestions for its improvement in Tamil Nadu. Women were found to be more prevalent in the construction industry. Because of the perceived nature of labour and the widely held belief that it is a massive male-dominated business, the Indian construction sector has inherent gender biases. Historically, women have been underrepresented in all construction disciplines and occupations. Only a need for higher skill levels and better services may create the conditions for combating gender disparities and cruel exploitation in the construction industry.
