Impact of Government Schemes and Tribal Empoverment – A Study in Theni District

Abstract

The Tribal population are primitive geographically isolated and socially educationally and economically backward and isolated from the main stream of national life. To improving the social status of Tribals, both the Central and State Government has implemented various welfare programmes. A moot question that arises in this context is whether the Welfare Programmes of the Government have reached these deprived segments of the societies and whether their social and economic status have improved due to these welfare measures the present study has made an attempt to analyze the Impact of Government Schemes and Tribal Empowerment in Theni District.
