The Impact of Healthcare Workers’ Job Satisfaction on the Quality of Care in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate healthcare workers’ perceptions of the link between job satisfaction and the quality of healthcare they provide, as well as barriers to providing high-quality care. The motive behind this study was to investigate and explore the factors affecting job satisfaction and the quality of healthcare services as well. To achieve study objectives the researcher conducted an in-depth literature review, and the basis of the literature review research hypotheses were developed and empirically tested. The researcher had adopted an online survey to collect data for this cross-sectional research. This 36-item survey asked healthcare professionals about their perceptions of the relationship between the quality of care they provide and job satisfaction, as well as the variables that influence both. Questionnaires were delivered to the healthcare professionals who are working in both private and public health organizations in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The final sample size of the study was four hundred and thirty-eight respondents. Results reveal positive relation between job satisfaction of healthcare workers and the quality they provide, and the alternative hypothesis were proven correctly. Moreover, results found that job description, work environment, compensation package, and personal growth opportunities, significantly affect job satisfaction and quality care delivery.
