Techno Pedagogical Attitude and Techno Stress among Student Teachers of B.Ed. Program of Meghalaya

Abstract

Teaching learning has undergone a transformation from traditional physical classroom teaching to virtual digital classroom teaching with an outburst of the Covid pandemic from 2020 to 2022 which has led teachers to adopt digital technology in their teaching process. They feel stressed and burned out when teaching with digital resources. Hence, they develop an unfavorable attitude towards digital use in teaching. The inclusion of digital technology in traditional teaching has led to a fundamental shift in our understanding of pedagogy and related practices. Hence, the present study was conducted to study the level of Techno pedagogical attitude and technostress of student teachers of the teacher training programme of Meghalaya. A total sample of 200 student teachers (n=200) of training program were selected by random sampling technique by using a survey method for the study. Techno Pedagogical Attitude Scale and Techno stress scale were constructed by the researcher and used to find out the level of Techno Pedagogical Attitude and technostress among student teachers of B.Ed. programme of Meghalaya. Percentage, t-tests, and Pearson’s product-moment coefficient of correlation(r) were the statistical techniques used to analyze data. The study found that student teachers of possess high, average and low levels of Techno Pedagogical Attitude and Technostress. The study also reveals that there exists a low positive correlation between Techno Pedagogical Attitude and technostress.
