Abstract

Data transmission (as well as voice transmission) based on the Internet's protocol passes through the same network infrastructure. Research has shown that there are two types of traffic in the network environment. (1) is the normal flow traffic: refers to data and voice. (2) is background traffic: indicates unwanted traffic and negatively affects IP-based voice packets. All of this will cause the opposite effect of delays, fluctuations and eventually loss of packets. This study aims to clarify the factors affecting virtual networks via global Internet protocols, In order to connect (transmit) voice with high standards and without interruption in the internal Internet networks (such as the university campus network). While the perf tool was used for station-to-station tests, then a global simulation program was used to evaluate network performance. The search results indicated that the fluctuations in the sound packets remained in the range of 0-200 ms; However, the audio packet recorded a delay between 0-30 ms.
