Abstract

Skill and identity verification is a primary problem faced during hiring and selection processes. Universities and companies often need supportin determining the claims of an applicant. It is also inconvenient to verify the certifications of a candidate. Moreover, the whole authentication process is expensive to implement. Blockchain utilize a decentralized manner for storage of information. Therefore, the system in consideration is a blockchain-based mechanism that deals with the above mentioned challenges. A blockchain can be understood as a network of nodes connected and secured using hashing. This work utilizes Polygon technology, a blockchain scalability platform, for building a blockchain-based system as it covers traditional drawbacks of Ethereum, such as high fees and low transaction speed, by adding another layer. The web-enabled system is designed to be a full-fledged system that drastically reduces manual workload in hiring. It not only authenticates the skills and certificates of a candidate but also fulfills other formalities of identity document verification. Skill assessment is carried out by tests and quizzes built into the system. In this way, it is possible to assess a candidate for a particular profile thoroughly. Candidates will be charged a small enrollment fee. After all verification processes are cleared, candidates’ portfolios are displayed on the site where companies can view and contact them.
