Abstract

Graduate tracer studies must be conducted on a regular basis to trail graduates' employability and determine whether the skills and competencies they have learned are applicable to their current job. Graduate tracer studies provide relevant feedback that could be used to enhance or improve program curricula that are aligned with the needs of the labor market and the demands of evolving and emerging jobs. This research focused on developing a web-based system that can be used as a mechanism for program curriculum enhancement and a tool for quality assurance of Pangasinan State University and other HEIs. This study employed descriptive and developmental research design. A survey instrument was used to evaluate the study's acceptability and usability and was accomplished by respondents and IT experts. The research will assist an institution, Pangasinan State University in particular, in developing an efficient and effective mechanism or tool for assessing the employability of their graduates. The developed system was determined very acceptable with the grand mean of 4.42 as evaluated by the University Head of Statistics Center, Statistics Coordinator of Lingayen Campus and 107 graduates of year 2021. It was also determined as usable with an overall weighted mean of 4.13 as evaluated by 5 IT experts. As an innovation, the current system will reduce the difficulty of conducting tracer studies as it aims to improve the quality of the curriculum of degree programs aligned with the thrusts of the global labor market. As a result, implementing the system is deemed necessary in ensuring an institution's quality education.
