Abstract

The study focuses on the integration of self-media big data into ideological and political teaching through an elective course that uses podcasting as a platform for English language learning. The objective of this research is to investigate the potential of self-media big data as a tool for promoting ideological and political education in English learning. The study adopts a case study approach, utilizing the elective course Podcasting: English listening and speaking through culture as a case. In this course, students engage with various podcast episodes that incorporate cultural elements. The research methodology involves collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources, including self-media platforms, student feedback, and assessments. The analysis focuses on examining the impact of self-media big data on students' ideological and political awareness. The expected outcomes of this study include insights into the effectiveness of integrating self-media big data into ideological and political teaching. The findings will contribute to the existing literature on innovative approaches to language education and shed light on the potential of self-media big data in promoting ideological and political education. Overall, this research aims to provide practical implications for educators and researchers interested in exploring the role of self-media big data in ideological and political teaching.
