Abstract

Elevator is the most important transportation tool in high buildings today. Regular maintenance in service is therefore compulsory to avoid risk of fault in every country. However, this task still heavily depends on measuring instruments operated by technicians. This process is time-consumption with high labor cost. Accordingly, an elevator operation data collecting and analysis system is proposed for elevator health diagnosis. In the proposed system, it adopts the Microcontroller Unit (MCU) via I2C communication to process the captured signals such as vibration and loading data. The MCU with file management function is controlled through SPI. Therefore, the elevator operation data can be automatically stored to the USB flash drive. Also, the real-time data of the elevator operation can be viewed on line through the mobile APP. Compared with commercial EVA625 elevator vibration analysis system, experimental results prove that the proposed system can accurately measure the vibration signal and load weight during the elevator operation period.
