Abstract

In today's life, many things are gradually being lost, relationships are becoming more complicated, so "kindness" should be preserved and promoted. Sowing seeds of love and sharing good life values with students is always what we aim for. This paper focuses on the importance of educating kindness in Japanese culture for students majoring in Japanese language at FPT University. The aim is to enhance emotional and interpersonal development in the learning process. Drawing inspiration from Japanese cultural values such as respect, empathy, and harmony, this study proposes various strategies and activities to foster kindness among students. The paper begins by exploring the significance of kindness in Japanese culture and its impact on personal growth and relationships. It then discusses the relevance of incorporating these values into the Japanese language curriculum at FPT University. The study suggests practical approaches to promote kindness, including creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging open communication and discussions, incorporating Japanese literature and media that exemplify kindness, and organizing community service projects. Furthermore, the paper emphasizes the role of educators in modeling and guiding students towards acts of kindness. It suggests that teachers can integrate mindfulness and reflective practices into their teaching methodologies to cultivate compassion and self-awareness among students. The paper also highlights the importance of collaborative learning and peer support in nurturing kindness. Lastly, the study discusses the expected outcomes of integrating kindness education into the Japanese language program. It anticipates that students will not only enhance their language skills but also develop emotional intelligence, empathy, and a sense of social responsibility. The paper concludes by emphasizing the potential long-term benefits of incorporating kindness education into the curriculum, both in terms of personal growth and the cultivation of a compassionate and harmonious society.
