Iot-Driven E-Vehicle Technology: Harnessing Solar Energy for Sustainable Transportation
Main Article Content
Abstract
The rapid advancements in renewable energy and smart technologies have paved the way for innovative solutions in transportation. Among these, the integration of solar energy and Internet of Things (IoT) in electric vehicles (E-Vehicles) represents a transformative leap towards sustainable mobility. This study evaluates the potential of Sun Machine (Solar) technology integrated with IoT in the context of E-Vehicles, analyzing its performance, benefits, and challenges. The Sun Machine concept leverages photovoltaic systems to harness solar energy, which is stored and utilized to power electric vehicles. This renewable energy source offers a sustainable alternative to conventional fossil fuels, significantly reducing carbon footprints and dependence on non-renewable resources. IoT integration further enhances this system by enabling real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and smart energy management. Key components, including solar panels, battery management systems (BMS), IoT sensors, and cloud-based analytics, are interconnected to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Demonstrate that IoT-enabled solar-powered E-Vehicles exhibit significant improvements in operational efficiency and user experience. Real-time data collected via IoT devices facilitates predictive maintenance, reducing downtime and enhancing the longevity of critical components like batteries and solar panels. The smart battery management system optimizes energy distribution and minimizes wastage, ensuring consistent vehicle performance. Additionally, the use of cloud platforms for data storage and analytics enables seamless integration with mobile applications, empowering users with valuable insights and control. Including the high initial cost of solar panels and IoT infrastructure, limited solar energy availability in certain geographical regions, and data security concerns associated with IoT connectivity. Addressing these challenges requires advancements in photovoltaic technology, cost reduction strategies, and robust cyber security measures. IoT-based solar-powered E-Vehicles are promising, with ongoing research focused on improving energy conversion efficiency, developing lightweight and flexible solar panels, and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) for autonomous decision-making. These innovations aim to further enhance the adoption and scalability of this technology, contributing to the global push for clean energy and sustainable urban mobility. Sun Machine concept, combining solar energy with IoT technology, represents a viable and sustainable solution for the transportation sector. Its adoption not only aligns with global sustainability goals but also opens new avenues for technological innovation and economic growth.
