Optimal Green Inventory Model to Achieve Sustainable Environment

Abstract

Environmental contamination is one of the major problems facing our planet today. Technology has advanced significantly in recent years, but it has also brought about some unfavorable effects on the environment. Today's population is more environmentally conscious and moving toward green product design. The goal of green design is to totally eradicate any negative environmental effects through competent, sensitive design and the creation of goods that are designed for reuse and recycling. The Economic Order Quantity model (EOQ) discussed in this work links the cost of green design to ordering, buying, and holding expenses. The necessity of green design, the effects of including it in the traditional EOQ model, and the cost of transportation are explored.
