Abstract

These days, people use their cell phones for more than just making calls and sending
messages; they also use them for online banking, online shopping, checking email, watching
videos, using social media apps like Facebook, and getting online health and medical
information while out and about or dining. By saving significant time and money, the use of
Internet-based services via mobile devices greatly simplifies human life. One of the quickly
expanding trends in the e-commerce industry is food delivery assisted by digital apps. The
introduction of digital technologies has given the food business a new perspective. Today's
consumers have the luxury of selecting from a number of cuisines from a variety of food
suppliers listed in the e-commerce area, anywhere, anytime. The convenience of the user has
risen thanks to additional features including no minimum order value and a wide range of
payment choices like net banking, digital wallets, and cash on delivery. Smartphone
accessibility and a narrowing urban-rural divide have accelerated the development and use of
online meal delivery services. To stay up with the changing wants and tastes of the client,
businesses have updated their business strategies on a contemporary digital platform. In this
paper, we specifically look at the development and importance of digital applications in the
meal delivery services provided by Indian fast food chains, as well as some potential business
tactics they may use going forward.
