Cost and Benefit Analysis of Digital Transformation in Higher Education in India

Abstract

Digital transformation in higher education has been a topic of discourse and debate for years.
It is the future of higher education and all institutions need to be ready for it. The digital
transformation in higher education can change everything about how we think about our
classrooms, libraries, research labs and academic spaces. But understanding the impact of
digital transformation in Higher Education is important for all institutions, not only at the
technical level but also in terms of economics. The rise of technology has resulted in an
unprecedented rise in connectivity among people. This is seen as a global phenomenon and
hence institutions need to be included and connected through the use of technology. The use
of new and emerging technologies in education can bring significant benefits to institutions,
students and educational organizations. This study aims to provide cost and benefit analysis
of digital transformation in higher education in India. Economics cannot be left out when it
comes to analyzing the impact of technology on higher education, especially in terms of cost
and benefit analysis. The methodology used here has been developed to provide a value-based
approach to digital transformation. The study provides qualitative information on the factors
that potentially contribute to digital transformation in higher education.
