Resumen

Intelligent Transportation Systems increase road safety by utilizing Vehicular Ad-hoc
Networks. Communication in VANETs is governed by Dedicated Short Range
Communications (DSRC or IEEE 802.11p) and Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments
(WAVE or IEEE 1609 protocol suite). Due to network congestion, DSRC-based VANETs
cannot meet Quality of Service (QoS) standards such as reliability and latency in high vehicle
speed and data rate. According to the dynamic way status and different data that need to
transmitted between vehicle and infrastructure This paper investigates and analysis the
performance behavior of infrastructure to vehicle communication in VANET by observing
packet lost and throughput with two scenarios. first scenario is varying vehicle speed with fixed
data rate second scenario is fixed vehicle speed with different data rate. The simulation results
is recorded and discussed for both scenarios with variable vehicle velocity and communication
data rate. The Simulation is done with the veins framework based on OMNET++ and SUMO.
