Abstract

A hybrid and secure technique is proposed for data transmission or storage in the cloud. The
work presents a hybrid technique that combines the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)
and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC). This allows the edge device to encrypt the data
created before sending it to the cloud using the Encryption Algorithm (AES), ensuring
maximum protection against attackers. In addition, using ECC to encrypt AES keys improves
the security of key distribution through insecure channels and makes key management easier.
Though cryptography transfers the original data to the encrypted formulation, the online
transferred textual data still has many drawbacks such as data theft, original text decryption
using an automatic decryption counter. By the proposed system with improved cryptography
securing level (hybrid algorithm of AES-128 along with ECC) and the implementation of
Steganography, the method results in 57 % efficient time reduction with existing hybrid
algorithms.
