Fingerprint Identification for Criminal Detection based on Machine Learning Algorithm

Resumen

In the biometric system, fingerprint identification plays an important role, where every
person has unique fingerprint patterns. So, it is helpful to identify the identity of an individual
by comparing the two fingerprints. Therefore, the fingerprint recognition system is an
evolving technology for crime detection at crime scenes that resolves serial cases. So, in this
paper, we are implementing fingerprint identification based on deep learning technology
which name is called the CNN algorithm. The Sokoto Coventry Fingerprint Dataset
(SOCOFing) has been given to the CNN as input to build the classification model. According
to the experimental results, the proposed system will perform the classification of criminals’
identities based on the fingerprints effectively.
