Digital Entrepreneurship and Economic Transformation in the Platform Economy

Since the rise of digital technologies, many activities of entrepreneurs have been revolutionized, leading to the emergence of the platform economy as a key source of innovation, jobs and economic growth. Digital entrepreneurship involves the creation of value, enhancement of market access, and the use of online platforms, digital infrastructures and data-driven business models to optimize the business efficiency in different industries. The research paper explore the connection between digital entrepreneurship and economic transformation in the platform economy, focusing on the impact of digital platforms on the reconfiguration of conventional business ecosystems, inclusive growth and the speed of technological innovation. The study is analyzing the process of the platform companies supporting resource sharing, reducing transactions costs, fostering innovations and establishing micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through digital marketplaces and service platforms. It also analyzes the economics of platform business models, including jobs generated, financial inclusion, productivity and possibilities of cross-border trading. In addition to these advantages, the paper examines some of the major issues these involve such as market concentration, regulatory uncertainty, digital inequality, data privacy issues, algorithmic governance and the employment of platform workers. Based on literature review, policy documents and empirical data, the study identifies the importance of providing digitally supportive infrastructure, entrepreneurial capability and innovating digital regulatory policies and digital skills development to realize the economic potential of digital entrepreneurship. The results indicate that the platform economy has emerged as an engine for structural economic change through innovation, an increase in entrepreneurship and greater digital competitiveness. In conclusion, the paper underscores the importance of sustainable and inclusive economic growth in the digital age, which can be promoted through a well-balanced governance system that fosters innovation and fair competition, consumer protection and equitable access of entrepreneurs and society to digital opportunities.
